Body Bronze Products (BBP) was founded by a dermatologist and skin cancer survivor in 2002.  BBP provides an exclusive sunless tanning line to medi-spas, aestheticians, plastic surgery and dermatology offices and BBP Certified Airbrush Tanning Technicians.  We are consumer advocates of safe tanning and beautiful skin.

Our goal is to consistently formulate the BEST, most effective sunless tanning products in the world.  

Our mission is to raise skin cancer awareness in people of all ages and allow the results of our products demonstrate proof that there is a healthy alternative to having a natural tan.

Lisa Perna Story - Founder and President

The majority of my life has been spent doing things outdoors, whether it was at the beach, on the lake, or playing sports, I was outside and loved getting a tan.  I was raised in Florida and usually all of my daytime activities involved being in the sun.  However, in 2002, I was given one of the biggest shocks of my life.  I was diagnosed with melanoma and my dermatologist ordered me out of the sun.  he told me my time in the sun must come to an end or I could be risking my life.  Strangely enough, the only thing I heard was, I would not be able to go in the sun.  The doctor told me the only way I could get a tan is if it came from a can.  ironically, this happened three days before I was to leave for Hawaii.  The cancer part sunk-in shortly after and it forced me to really think about my future and how I would handle this terrible situation.

This inspired me to begin research on the sunless tanning market.  Surprisingly, I discovered there was a huge demand for quality sunless products that did not turn orange or have an odor.  What I also found very unusual, the top cosmetic dermatologist in the leading skin cancer state (Arizona), did not offer sunless tanning products.  this was one more reason that creating the best sunless tanning product on the market was what I was destined to achieve.  

 I partnered with a well known Scottsdale dermatologist and we immediately began perfecting a formulation to launch Body Bronze Prducts.  Fortunately, with the support of my dermatologist and a stellar group of chemists and skin care professionals, we created a sunless tanning formulation that I have been blessed to share with others. 

My passion is for helping and educating people on the harmful effects the sun and tanning beds can have.  It truly is the motivation behind all of my efforts.

In February 2009. my worst fears came to light, when I found out my father was diagnosed with melanoma that spread to his lymph nodes.  Like me, he lives in Florida which means he lives in the sun year round.  He is an avid golfer and is highly exposed to the deadly effects of the sun's rays.  He has had multiple surgeries and is currently dealing with chemotherapy.  My experiences with this deadly disease have greatly affected me both individually and with my immediate family.  I am so aware about exposure to the sun.  So when I am in the sun, I am always about maximum SPF.  I encourage everyone to ask themselves as well as their loved ones "Are you wearing sunscreen and what's your SPF?

 You never know what life you may be saving.
